"... we want men who will realize that they have a responsibility to stand by any project that they may begin and see it through. And finally,Uplift; which puts man in connection with the community in which he lives and lets him realize that he has a responsibility to those who are less fortunate than himself; that he must also do what he does with the idea of service to the community and to the nation."

Making Thanksgiving & Christmas More Meaningful to Needy Families

So many families in the metro Washington area are unable to enjoy the holidays because of their unfortunate circumstances. In addition to these families, there is a sometimes-overlooked community comprised of seniors for whom the holidays can be lonely.
Every year, the Brothers of Gamma Pi drop their busy work and family schedules and literally bring cheer to local families in the Suitland Community through delivering Thanksgiving baskets to the seniors and sponsoring a Christmas toy drive for the children. The Thanksgiving project is conducted jointly with the Brothers of Lambda Gamma Gamma chapter in the area and serves the seniors who reside in Windsor Crossing.
The Brothers also joined Lambda Gamma Gamma chapter for a Christmas Toy Drive for the Suitland community, and the sisters of Delta Sigma Theta for a Christmas party for youth in the Kentland community, many who are part of the chapter's Que Kidz Dayz program.
