Gamma Pi "PHOTO of the WEEK"
April 2, 2023
PHOTOS: Gamma Pi Chapter, the Super Chapter, based in Prince George's County, Md., recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary during the weekend of March 4-5. The chapter was founded on March 5, 1973 by 21 charter members, most of them transplanted educators from North Carolina looking to create a closer-to-home chapter to remain active in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The chapter is planning a gala event for November to wrap up what will be a yearlong celebration of Gamma Pi's significant role in serving the Prince George's County community. Gamma Pi is now one of the three largest chapters in the Fraternity. In the photo at left, Bro. Basileus RIchard Allison II (foreground), stands with other past chapter Basilei throughout Gamma Pi's history during an anniversary brunch held March 5. At right, Bro. Brandon Cannaday, a new initiate into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., steps up and serves as "my Brother's keeper" by escorting seasoned Bro. Willie Blanding (nearly 50 years in the Fraternity) to his seat at a recent chapter meeting. Brothers are always looking out for the community and for each other!
Our Social Action programs are sponsored by Friendship Charities Foundation, Inc.
