Wins Countywide Boys and Girls Club Championship
Celebrating on the court!
Gamma Pi's Bro. Roderick Lawrence apparently has been channeling Phil Jackson, Al Attles (throwback) and Steve Kerr lately! His 14-and-under Marlboro Boys and Girls Club boys basketball team went undefeated at 12-0 and were recently crowned the champions in that division in the Prince George's County Boys and Girls Clubs (PGBGC) league. Bro. Lawrence, a retired U.S. Army veteran, is among many Omega men who spend much of their spare time working with youth in the local community.
It is often through sports that men like Bro. Lawrence coach, mentor and advise youth on becoming better people. Years later, not only are the youth able to look back on a trophy and in this case a hard-earned title, but as adults, they will bring forward life lessons they learn from their coach and from the championship experience.
