Gamma Pi Chapter Is Back on "The Flat Screen" with Its TV show

Jamar Gamma Pi is returning to the airwaves this week as its four-year-old television show, "Community UPLIFT," starts a new broadcast cycle locally on Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The show will air in Prince George's and Montgomery counties in those time slots weekly on Verizon FiOS (Ch. 42) and Comcast (Ch. 76). The show features host-interviewer Denise Roberts and Basileus Bro. Tony Lee. The lead special guest for this episode is Bro. Willie Hines, who heads the chapters flagship educational initiative, Project ENRICH. With star student Matthew Watkins in tow, Bro, Hines discusses the program's purpose and accomplishments. In another segment, Bro. William Battle talks about his upcoming Prostate Cancer Awareness Bike Ride and his organization's ongoing advocacy for improving minority health in Prince George's. The show was featured in the Omega Psi Phi national magazine, The Oracle, last year. It is produced by the Gamma Pi Public Relations Committee and taped at Prince George's Community TV studios . Bro. Clinton Green, a member of the committee, is the lead producer and founder of the show.
