Gamma Pi Cycles for Prostate Cancer Awareness for Black Men
Whether on foot or on two wheels, the Brothers of Gamma Pi answer the call when it comes to providing support to local causes. This weekend, a Brother from the chapter, Bro. William Battle, sponsored a Prostate Cancer Awareness Bike Ride in Bowie, receiving on-site support from numerous fellow chapter members who joined other community members to advance the cause. The bike ride started at Allen Pond Park on Northview Drive in Bowie. Through his organization, Emmanual Health Education, Bro. Battle is focused like a laser beam on prostate awareness for African American men in Maryland, beginning with Prince George's County which has the highest rate of mortality from the disease. The Social Action team supported the ride as part of its ongoing work.
