Project ENRICH Opens With a Flourish for the 2019-20 Academic Year
Gamma Pi's celebrated college preparatory program, Project ENRICH, is in full swing. The program opened on Saturday, October 5, at Bowie State University's Thurgood Marshall Auditorium. About 100 students and parents turned out for the first session of 2019-20. Bro. Willie Hines, the program's director, introduced the team leads for the new year and also introduced two new wrinkles to Project ENRICH. Mrs. Rita Reese, wife of Gamma Pi member Bro. Bill Reese, will lead a new initiative as the young women's adviser for the program. She outlined her program in a presentation that featured a crafty play on the social media site, I-N-S-T-A-G-R-A-M. Bowie State chemistry professor Dr. Eric Bonsu, who ignited students in an inspirational talk with his passionate plea for them to "be the best," will visit with Project ERICH every month to help keep students challenged and motivated. Dring the academic year, he will share his insights about college from the faculty perspective. For more information, visit www.projectenrich.org. It's not too late to register!
