Charles Drew Fund TopGolf Event Attracts More than 100 Golfers and Friends to Raise Money for Scholarships

It was a different concept when it comes to the game of golf. This wasn't drives down lonely narrow fairways or quiet putts on the green with hushed crowds. This was golf with a little bit of pizzazz -- electronically scored driving competitions, plenty of food and drinks, lots of conversation and high-fives and thumping music from deejay Bro. Arvel "Butch" Howerton. This was golf with a social twist as participants and onlookers gathered in groups of 6 and 8 in heated indoor bays to enjoy an afternoon of TopGolf at National Harbor to support the first annual Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund Winter Classic. More than 100 golfers along with friends and family took over part of the venue for an entertaining afternoon with the Gamma Pi QUES marked by unseasonably mild weather. NFL football fans didn't miss anything as the games were on the big screens along the concourses and in each bay. Bro. Andrew Clarke was the overall winner, with Imani Ford (wife of Bro, Kevin Ford, Jr.) and Bro Thaddeus Turner finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
