A trio of Brothers from Gamma Pi Chapter’s Scholarship program put the chapter’s scholarship offerings on the map this past weekend. Bro. Dr. Wayman Jaye Brown, DDS (Scholarship Committee Chairman), Bro. Anthony Williams (Scholarship Committee Vice Chairman), and Bro. Brian "BK" Long (Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund board member), represented Gamma Pi Chapter and the Charles Drew scholarship fund during the recent 17th Annual Alfred Street Baptist Church HBCU Festival at the Gaylord Hotel and Resort, held on Saturday, January 25. At the event, the Brothers distributed information and talked to interested students and parents about college funding opportunities available through the chapter and the Charles Drew scholarship fund. The Alfred Street fair began in 2003 with about 150 participants and today has grown to more than 11,000 people. More than 70 institutions attend the fair annually, and collectively they have awarded more than $20 million in scholarships. The Alfred Street fair It is the largest HBCU college fair in the nation.
