Gamma Pi Brothers Celebrate 47 Years of Omega Pride

Brothers from Gamma Pi Chapter celebrated another Omega Birthday earlier this month. The Super Chapter turned 47 years young on March 5 (founded in 1973). The birthday was marked with a Brothers Only social event held at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowie. More than 70 Brothers turned out for the evening of food, drink and "true and exaggerated" stories about life in the World's Greatest Fraternity. Through the years, Gamma Pi has grown from a small alternative chapter started by educator-members moving into the area, into one of the three largest chapters in all of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. In its history, the chapter has become influential at the highest levels of the Fraternity including both the District and International arenas. In fact, Gamma Pi has had one member reach the top level of service as a member of the Supreme Council, in Bro. Kenneth Rodgers, the former Grand Keeper of Records and Seal. The chapter has also been home to several former college presidents, State and Local elected leaders and leaders in business, government and the medical and legal professions.
