Gamma Pi's Project ENRICH Secures Grant in Support of Its Stellar Work
Every month, the students who meet at Bowie State University for Project ENRICH get closer to their dreams of attending college, thanks to the ambitious schedule of informational sessions, lectures, panel discussions and presentations about how to apply to and get funding for college. As the program continues to grow, it is beginning to attract notice throughout the broader community. During the February session, Brother Shake Alieu (right), a new Initiate of Omega Psi Phi and Gamma Pi, presented Bro. Chairman Willie Hines with a check for $790 for Project ENRICH operations from the American Hospital Association. After learning of Project ENRICH's work through Bro Alieu, the AHA encouraged a proposal from Project ENRICH and provided the funds from its grant coffers to enhance the program's ongoing work. Click on the video at left to watch the actual presentation. Project ENRICH is the subject of Gamma Pi's upcoming new public affairs TV show, "Community UPLIFT," which will debut in Prince George's County and Montgomery County in the coming weeks on the CTV (Community Television) network. Bro. Hines and a local Project ENRICH family are special guests on the inaugural show. Stay tuned for more details.
