Omega Men Practice Four Cardinal Principles at Home First
Gamma Pi men are busy trekking up and down the road in Prince George's County working with seniors, youth and families trying to make life better for them in any way possible. It is part of our calling as men of Omega Psi Phi and especially as men of Gamma Pi, which has won numerous Second District awards for its Social Action programs. What the public generally does not get to see is how Brothers take care of business on the home front. Brother Roderick Lawrence (Gamma Pi '11), above, is the latest example for the Super Chapter. He was recognized by the Prince George's County Board of Education this month for his outstanding work promoting parental involvement and academic excellence to all children in the county. Brother Lawrence's son, Kamarre, is an honor student at Mattaponi Elementary School in Upper Marlboro. Kamarre's Assistant Principal, Stephen Green (above right), nominated Bro. Lawrence for the award which was given to him during a program at Brother Charles H. Flowers High School. For all Omega men, Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift all begin at home. Congratulations Brother Lawrence! Click here to send Bro. Lawrence a personal congratulations via e-mail.
