Project ENRICH Closes the Book on Another Great Year Preparing Future Leaders
Students, parents and friends nearly filled the Thurgood Marshall Library Auditorium at Bowie State University on Saturday, June 4, to formally close the 2015-16 academic year for Project ENRICH. The two-hour program was marked by the recall of highlights from the year, testimonials from students and parents about the benefits of the program, awards and the outlook for the upcoming 2016-17 academic year. Local high school track star Steadman Cook and Gammon Gresham (bottom right) were named Outstanding Seniors. They are headed to the University of Connecticut (track) and University of Wisconsin (academics) respectively on full scholarships. Both said they gained a tremendous amount of insight and confidence from the program. Brother Kenneth Rodgers, Grand Keeper of Records & Seal for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., (top right), stopped by to offer words of encouragement to the students and to thank parents. His daughter is a freshman in the program. In the photo at top left, Brothers Jay Crump, Esq., Brett Blake, Lawrence Branch and Lawrence Dukes go over the schedule. As the photo at bottom left indicates, the program was well-attended. For more information about Project ENRICH, visit the web site or email Brother Willie Hines, Chairman, at mailto:projecnenrich@gmail.com.
