Gamma Pi's Mardi Gras "Tops the Charts" -- Time to Get Ready for Next Year!
On March 20, 2015, about 1,000 people from the DMV "moved and grooved" their way to the rhythmic beat of the Just Friends Band, enjoyed exquisite cuisine, and rolled in the aisles at the exciting and competitive Mardi Gras Costume Parade! That was the scene at Mardi Gras 2015. But who was behind the scenes of this event? In the photo top left, members of the hardworking Mardi Gras committee are show during a planning meeting nearly a year ago .At right, the result of their efforts -- a sold out house and an exciting night enjoyed by all. Gamma Pi chapter has been hosting Mardi a Gras for four decades since the chapter's inception, and more recently in partnership with the Friendship Charities Foundation,Inc. Every year, this signature event gets better and better, and tickets go faster and faster. For the chapter, it's always a "party with as purpose" as monies raised from the event go towards an ambitious agenda of social action programs for children, seniors and families in the Prince George's County community. Congratulations to Brother Ronald Swann, Mardi Gras chairman, and Co-chair Brother Rodney Beverly. Check out our Mardi Gras 2015 photo album
