Gamma Pi Brother Named to CEO Position at National Nonprofit Agency

Throughout the year, many Gamma Pi chapter Brothers pitch in behind the scenes and contribute sweat equity to social action activities in addition to the professional expertise they provide. They are seen setting up for events, handing out school supplies to community youth, or working with various programs Gamma Pi has established to support families and seniors. One of those Brothers is Jeffrey T. Bryson (Psi Delta '75), whose legal skills and understanding of the nonprofit world are prized by the chapter and Fraternity. It is easy to see why. On Friday, September 8, Brother Bryson was named Acting President and CEO by the Board of Directors of the national NeighborWorks America housing nonprofit foundation headquartered in Washington, D.C. (click for press release). NeighborWorks has 350 employees in Washington, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Denver, Kansas City and Los Angeles and supports a network of 240 community based nonprofits in all 50 states. The organization has a $200 million annual budget. Brother Bryson has served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate  Secretary for the organization for 26 years and has worked there for more than 30 years.  A  graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Catholic University School of Law, Brother Bryson is co-chair of Gamma Pi's Constitution and Bylaws Committee and has served for several years on the Friendship Charities Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors.
