Chapter Members Jazz Up Local Que-Sponsored Concert as Volunteers
About 100 seniors in the county had the time of their lives on Saturday, June 9, during the Annual Seniors Banquet sponsored by Gamma Pi. The Brothers gave their all, and it showed with the turnout and the awesome response of the gathered seniors, who had smiles beaming on their faces as they departed the Gethsemane United Methodist Church around 3 p.m. after the program ended. It was a full house! Brothers shopped for groceries, cooked the meals, served the meals, sang and provided entertainment. About 30 members of the chapter --, full of enthusiasm and energy -- made Saturday's banquet special and one of the best ever. As always, the Gamma Pi Chorale, directed by Brother Alan Stewart, was a big hit. This year Gamma Pi featured an aerobics style presentation based on The Gospel, brought by Gloria Ross of Fitness4Less. At several points during the program, the seniors (many in their 70s and 80s) let out yells and rose to their feet clapping and cheering at the music and the activities. Hats off to Brother Sheku Alieu and the team for an outstanding job!
