The Brothers of Gamma Pi Devote a Week to Local Youth

During the past week, beginning November 30, the Brothers of Gamma Pi were hard at work serving the youth in the Greater Prince George's County community. One team spent Saturday morning at Bowie State University helping aspiring young high school students reach out and touch their educational and career dreams as part of Project ENRICH, a four-year prep program to get county students ready for college and careers. The students got a rousing and inspirational motivational speech from retired NASA official W. James Adams, who talked about how his dreams of space travel and love of science led to a career as key member of the U.S. space program. On Tuesday, December 3, Brothers of the Social Action team joined with Brothers of Lambda Gamma Gamma Chapter to distribute Christmas toys to underprivileged youth in the Suitland community. Judging by the smiles on kids' faces, Gamma Pi's presence was a dream come for some of the county's neediest kids at the most special time of year -- Christmas. Gamma PI is always on the move providing UPLIFT to our local youth and their families. Thanks to Project ENRICH Chair Bro. Willie Hines and Social Action Chair Bro. Kevin Greenwood for leading this week's UPLIFT.
Our Social Action projects are supported by Friendship Charities Foundation, Inc.
